Description

A lone woman in a grey veil arrives in a small Breton village, her striking beauty hidden beneath a thick shawl. She stops for a hurried breakfast at the local inn, then asks the innkeeper to watch her luggage before setting out on a journey that splits into two roads—one toward Quimperlé, the other toward Quimper. Choosing the latter, she follows a faint sign pointing to a nearby hamlet, only to find the landscape empty and the directions puzzling.

She discovers a modest castle nearby, its shutters shut and a distant church bell tolling, then settles on a quiet meadow to read a mysterious letter addressed to “Madame Véronique, fashion house, Besançon.” The note, signed by a secretive agency, hints at a covert assignment tied to her past and the shadowy events that have surrounded her family. As she pieces together the cryptic instructions, listeners are drawn into a web of intrigue that promises danger, hidden motives, and a quest for truth in a world still reeling from the upheavals of war.
