Description

In the turbulent days leading up to the Act of Union, a restless Dublin throbs with whispered conspiracies and brewing unrest. Doreen, a fiery young heiress, finds herself torn between her own convictions and the expectations of a society on the brink of change, while a charismatic yet uncertain suitor strives to prove his worth amid a web of loyalties. Their circles intersect with hardened patriots, ambitious lords, and a restless yeomanry, each maneuvering through secret messages hidden in loaves of bread and desperate rides across the countryside.

Against this backdrop of looming military threats and sectarian tension, the novel paints a vivid portrait of a city caught between old allegiances and the promise of a new order. Rumors of foreign invasion and the rise of secret societies stir fear and hope alike, setting the stage for daring acts, fragile alliances, and the fierce yearning for liberty that will shape the lives of those daring enough to act.
