Description

A fierce, inexplicable wind sweeps through a quiet London boarding house, scattering papers, blowing out candles, and stirring the lives of its eclectic residents. When the gust finally settles, the guests discover that one of their fellow boarders—Innocent Smith—has vanished, presumed dead, his empty bed a stark, unsettling mystery. The remaining occupants, a mix of weary scholars and spirited young women, are thrown into a frantic scramble to piece together the baffling disappearance.

As the investigation unfolds, each clue feels like a playful riddle rather than a grim crime scene. Smith’s friends and acquaintances—curious curates, a steadfast nurse, and a skeptical police inspector—must navigate a series of odd testimonies and baffling evidence that seem to mock conventional logic. Their search becomes a lively dance of wit and wonder, revealing the thin line between ordinary routine and the extraordinary surprises that can erupt from a single gust of wind.
