Description

In a quiet valley of rolling green hills and ancient pine woods, the town of Lake City rests on the shore of a sparkling inland lake. Its tree‑lined streets, historic elm‑lined avenues, and the stately capitol dome give the place a New‑England charm far from the coast. The surrounding countryside is a patchwork of wheat, corn, goldenrod‑laden pastures and dairy farms, a landscape that feels both cultivated and wild.

Amid this tranquil setting lives a bright, observant girl who spends her summers perched in the branches of a centuries‑old oak, watching the world below. From a baby carriage hidden beneath the tree to the bustling circus on the hill, she gathers stories and dreams while her younger sister sleeps nearby. As she watches a toy balloon drift and hears the murmurs of pine trees, her curiosity begins to shape a path that will lead her far beyond the familiar pastures of her hometown.
