Description

In the dead of a winter that turns the Colorado high country into a frozen wasteland, a youthful Lieutenant Pike leads a handful of soldiers, a Pawnee boy called Scar Head, and an eager young chief into the snowy peaks. Their mission is simple yet desperate: find the fabled Lost River that might sustain them and prove the United States’ claim on the contested Southwest. The cold bites to the bone, food dwindles, and the rag‑clad men must rely on Pike’s strict code of honor and relentless resolve to keep forward.

When the exhausted party finally believes they have reached their goal, Spanish soldiers appear on the horizon, their rifles flashing in the icy light. Captured and escorted to Santa Fé, the men face an unexpected turn of events that tests their loyalty, courage, and the very principles that bind them together. The journey promises a stark portrait of bravery against nature and conflict, setting the stage for an adventure where every decision could change the course of history.
