Description

After seventeen years of grief and exile, the aged Duke of Montmorency is shaken when a desperate letter arrives, promising that his beloved Jeanne de Piennes, long thought dead, lives. The young, dashing knight Pardaillan, fresh from past battles, becomes the messenger and the key to a hidden refuge where the duke’s vanished wife may be waiting. As old wounds surface, the duke must confront the treacherous brother who stole his happiness and decide whether to trust a new generation of heroes.

The story blends court intrigue, fierce duels, and a tender, fragile hope of reunion, while the fate of Jeanne’s daughter Loïse hangs in the balance. Pardaillan’s daring rescue mission leads the characters through secret chambers and perilous conspiracies, testing loyalty and courage. Listeners will be drawn into a vivid tapestry of love, betrayal, and the lingering question of whether a single minute of joy can truly eclipse years of suffering.
