Description

Leo Dunbar is a scrappy orphan thrust into a harsh farm life, where the miserly Hawkins family treats him more like a burden than a son. From daring feats on an apple tree to sharp‑tongued negotiations about wages, his quick wit and restless spirit keep him one step ahead of abuse. When a furious confrontation escalates, an unexpected roar shatters the tension—a lion, escaped from the traveling circus, lands at Leo’s feet.

That sudden encounter turns Leo’s world upside down, offering a glimpse of the dazzling world beyond the fields. The circus, with its glittering tents and exotic beasts, promises freedom, adventure, and a chance for the boy to prove his worth on a stage far larger than any barnyard. Listeners will follow Leo’s daring leap from oppression toward a life under the great white canvas, where courage and curiosity collide.
