Description

On a breezy Finnish coast, three ten‑year‑old friends call themselves “the three comrades.” Their home, Strandiger Manor, sits on a windswept park lane, and the boys have been ordered to ride out to the shallow sea‑banks to scan the horizon for any sign of enemy ships after the recent Gravelotte clash. The mission feels both urgent and daring, as the war has left the shoreline empty and the whole nation on edge.

Andrees Strandiger, the manor’s only son, rides a sturdy horse and tries to keep his temper steady, while his cousin Frans is brash and eager to prove himself. The third companion, Heim Heiderieter, is quieter, with thoughtful blue eyes and a shaky, old mare that struggles over the muddy path. Their differences create a lively tension as they follow the orders of the local over‑officer, each hoping to spot the first glimpse of the distant fleet.

The scene is painted with salty wind, the clatter of hooves, and the uneasy silence of a coast waiting for war to arrive. Listeners are invited to share the boys’ first steps into a world where youthful friendship meets the weight of national duty, all set against the stark beauty of the Baltic shoreline.
