A wintry house in Helsinki prepares for an unusual arrival: two orphaned brothers, Esko and Simo, who have spent their winters in a boarding school and their summers at a scout camp. Their new guardian, a scholarly doctor, arranges for a practical, no‑nonsense woman named Minna to provide the everyday care the boys have never known. The scene is set with careful negotiations, cramped rooms, and a promise that the boys will find a stable home despite their mischievous reputation.
From the moment the boys step through the door, the quiet rhythm of the household is tested by their restless energy. Minna, determined and resourceful, must balance discipline with warmth while the doctor watches from his study, more comfortable among books than toys. Their first days together hint at both humor and tension, as the brothers explore the house, challenge its rules, and begin to carve out a place in this snowy world.
