Description

The story opens in the bustling village of Méung in April 1625, a place stirred by rumors of conflict and the restless hum of soldiers, refugees, and secret plots. Amid the clatter of market stalls and the nervous chatter of townsfolk, the atmosphere feels on the brink of war, hinting at the tangled alliances of kings, ministers, and foreign powers. This restless backdrop sets the stage for a young man stepping into a world where honor and danger are tightly intertwined.

That young man is d'Artagnan, a lean, sharp‑eyed youth with a weather‑worn horse inherited from his father. Though his appearance is modest—a blue‑stained wool jacket and a feathered cap—his ambition burns bright, and the gift of the old steed carries both practical value and symbolic weight. As he prepares to leave his hometown for the court, listeners hear the first stirrings of the adventure that will make him a legend.
