Three sisters—Mary, Jane, and Florimel—live in the bright, leafy world of Hollyhock House, where their father's love of gardens has turned the estate into a living playground of rosebuds and secret paths. Mary, at seventeen, steadies the household with her dependable, gentle strength; Jane, a fiery fifteen‑year‑old, carries a cascade of red hair and a temperament that sparks both mischief and wonder; while Florimel, the youngest, is a dark‑eyed, quick‑witted little witch whose imagination turns every corner into an adventure. Their days swirl around the garden’s seasons, each sister learning the balance between care and curiosity as they tend to the blossoms and each other.
When summer arrives, a charismatic newcomer named Wilfrid Willoughby takes up residence to oversee the house, bringing fresh ideas and a hint of excitement that stirs the sisters’ routines. Together they explore the hidden nooks of the garden, share whispered confidences, and face the small challenges that test their patience and courage. As the sun sets over the rosebud garden, the girls discover that growing up is as much about tending to friendships as it is about the soil beneath their fingertips.
