Description

After Napoleon’s sudden departure from Egypt in August 1799, the French expedition finds itself in a precarious limbo. The fleet at Alexandria is reduced to two fragile frigates, and the army is left under the reluctant command of General Kléber, newly appointed by the departing leader. Soldiers wrestle with grief and uncertainty, their morale wavering as rumors of British interference swirl through the desert camps.

In this charged atmosphere, Kléber confronts a colony teetering between rebellion and foreign pressure. He must navigate false reports, negotiate with the Ottoman forces, and rally his troops for the looming confrontation at Héliopolis. Alliances with local leaders and daring maneuvers against both Turkish and Egyptian insurgents set the stage for a fierce struggle that will test the limits of French ambition in the region.
