Description

A thick fog rolls over Long Island Sound, turning the channel into a bewildering labyrinth of echoing horns and dim lanterns. On the cramped bridge of a rum‑running schooner, Captain Bethel leans over the slick rail, listening for the distant clang of buoys and the low growl of rival steamers. Every horn blast slices the gloom, marking a careful dance of vessels that glide toward the open Atlantic.

The crew is an uneasy mix of seasoned sailors and jittery newcomers, each reacting to the choking mist in their own way. When the nervous deckhand Joe Parento warns that the fog is too thick for the valuable cargo they carry, Bethel’s hard‑won confidence flares, revealing a world where honor, danger, and profit collide on every narrow turn. Listeners are pulled into the claustrophobic tension, feeling the cold spray and the steady thrum of engines as the smugglers race against unseen pursuers.
