Description

In the frozen breath of a northern wilderness, a small sled party pushes onward through snow‑shoes and sledges, hauling a cache of moose meat, mail and winter gear. Young Nel‑te, clutching a spare sleeping‑bag, travels with seasoned guides Phil and Serge, their dogs Musky, Luvtuk and Amook eager to bite the ice. The tight‑knit crew deals with hunger, cold and restless spirits, their conversation punctuated by the distant ringing of Musky’s bells as they search for a way out of a secluded lake.

The group camps at the lake’s edge, its shoreline seemingly sealed shut, prompting Phil and Serge to split and scour every inch for an unseen inlet. While the adults grapple with uncertainty, Nel‑te finds brief comfort in the antics of the dogs, his laughter echoing through the night. The early trek sets a tone of rugged perseverance and quiet companionship, hinting at further challenges that lie beyond the frozen horizon.
