Description

In a legendary Denmark ruled by the mighty King Hetel, his daughter Gudrun grows into a striking figure of strength and beauty, admired throughout the realm. Alongside her brother Ortwin, she embodies the heroic ideals of the age—courage, vigor, and an almost mythic presence that makes even the finest sculptors seem insufficient.

Her fame draws princes from distant lands, each eager to claim her hand, yet Hetel rebuffs them all, sparking prideful anger and vows of vengeance. Among the hopeful suitors is Hartmut, a determined prince from Normandy, whose mother pushes him toward a bold, costly pursuit while his own king doubts the wisdom of reaching so far across the sea. As Hartmut gathers a retinue of noble knights, the stage is set for a clash of ambitions, honor, and the fierce longing that drives both love and war.
