Description

Frank Merriwell, after his uncle’s bequest, is on a tour that takes him from Oklahoma City into the untamed West. He had started the journey with his trusted guardian, Professor Scotch, and loyal schoolmate Barney Mulloy, but now rides alone, driven by a restless sense of adventure. In a small town he reads a sensational newspaper article about a new desperado—Black Harry—who has been terrorizing the rail lines, robbing a north‑bound express and leaving a trail of blood. The vivid account of the banker's murder and the fierce vow of the victim’s daughter sparks Frank’s imagination.

Determined to put an end to the outlaw’s reign, Frank muses about assembling a hunting party to chase Harry through the rugged canyons. As he debates his plan, a sleek, gray‑suited stranger slips into the seat opposite him, his eyes cold and calculating, hinting that danger may be closer than the distant canyon walls. The encounter leaves Frank both wary and intrigued, setting the stage for a daring pursuit that will test his courage, skill, and unwavering sense of justice.
