On the dim, half‑gravity world of Kash, a weary Extrasol trader named Dillon finds himself reluctantly partnered with the sharp‑tongued troubleshooter Cassidy. The planet, called “home of the Gods” by its native people, is a quiet outpost where the night sky is nearly empty and the locals cling to ancient myths that now seem to be unraveling. When a grieving villager arrives with rumors of angry deities and a looming disaster, the two Earthmen must decide whether to intervene or simply observe.
The story balances dry, bureaucratic banter with the wonder of an alien landscape that feels both fragile and majestic. As Dillon navigates strange customs and a barely understood technology, he discovers that the greatest challenges may come from the expectations placed on a “god‑like” civilization itself. Humor, tension, and a hint of cosmic mystery keep the listener eager to see how the first clues unfold.
