Description

A leisurely afternoon in a splendid palace sets the stage for a gentle tale of curiosity and subtle courtly intrigue. Caliph Chasid, contented in his robes and surrounded by fragrant rosewood smoke, is approached by his solemn grand vizier, who reports a wandering pedlar bearing curious wares. The pedlar’s humble pack overflows with glittering trinkets, but it is a mysterious snuff‑box and a cryptic scroll that truly capture the ruler’s imagination.

The caliph summons the reputed scholar Selim the Learned, offering a generous reward—or a harsh punishment—depending on whether the strange script can be deciphered. This encounter promises a blend of exotic market color, the quiet rivalry of intellect, and the whimsical charm of a story that celebrates both the simple pleasures of a well‑crafted gift and the lure of an unsolved mystery. Listeners will be drawn into a world where even the smallest object can spark adventure.
