Description

In the wild early days of New England, a disaffected Englishman named Ben Wallace builds a solitary life on a harsh, rocky shore he calls Dungeon Rock. His son William grows up among untamed woods, Indian camps, and the gritty labor of a fledgling colony, yearning for purpose beyond the endless toil forced upon the settlers. From an early age he rebels against the cramped fences of conformity, dreaming of a world where he can aid those in need rather than merely survive.

When a storm lashes the coast and a terrified family drifts ashore, William’s restless spirit is put to the test. He opens his modest cabin to strangers—a weary Scotchman, his wife, and their young daughter—offering shelter and fire against the raging night. The encounter sets the stage for a life that will intertwine daring rescues, uneasy alliances, and a deepening bond with the land and its people, all while the echo of his father’s stern legacy lingers in the wind.
