Description

Dorothy Dale is a bright‑spirited teenager whose world suddenly expands when a long‑awaited inheritance is announced. Fresh from a loving, if somewhat regimented, home—her father a retired major—she dreams of new hats, a notebook of prices, and perhaps a future in design. With her inseparable friend Tavia Travers by her side, Dorothy sets off for Glenwood School, eager to turn the promise of comfort into real adventure.

The story follows her first weeks at the co‑ed boarding school, where classes, lawn parties, and daring escapades quickly test her courage and ingenuity. The chapters hint at mysteries—a fire‑bird, a hidden strike, a tangled web of suspicions—so listeners can expect a blend of youthful humor, earnest camaraderie, and the occasional peril that forces Dorothy to make tough choices. Through each challenge she learns that true wealth lies not in money or fancy hats, but in loyalty, resourcefulness, and the bonds forged with friends.
