Description

Dick Hamilton is the sort of young man whose easy confidence masks a genuine concern for the people around him. He inherits a massive fortune, but his mother’s will ties that wealth to a series of oddly specific tasks, forcing him to prove he can use money wisely rather than simply spend it. From the moment he steps out onto the bustling town street, his bright eyes and casual dress invite both admiration and envy, setting the stage for a series of tests that will shape his character.

Early on, Dick finds himself tangled in the schemes of a sharp‑tongued uncle who threatens to seize control of the estate, while a pair of streetwise friends try to lure him into a high‑stakes billiards game. Determined to live up to his mother’s wish, he begins helping “fresh‑air” kids and confronting would‑be swindlers, all while discovering that true wealth may lie more in loyalty and courage than in gold.
