He introduces himself as Captain Mors, the famed air pirate who answers a cryptic newspaper ad that promises a catastrophe unlike any the world has known. The startled host, engineer Reymond, lowers his weapon, caught between awe for the legendary adventurer and the unsettling reality of an intrusion that seems almost dreamlike. Their brief exchange hints at a larger, urgent mission that has drawn Mors from the skies to an ordinary bedroom.

Reymond confides that his factory has recently supplied mysterious machine parts to strangers he believes are Americans, parts whose purpose remains unknown. The engineer’s unease grows as he realizes those components may be linked to the ominous threat Mors was summoned to confront.
