Dave Fearless and the Cave of Mystery; or, Adrift on the Pacific

Dave and Bob are young crew members on the steamship Swallow, freshly returned from a daring Pacific voyage that promised a fortune in gold recovered from the sea‑floor. When the supposed treasure boxes are opened and found to be nothing but junk, the excitement turns to outrage, and the two friends resolve to track down the thieves who swapped the loot. Their bond, forged by storms, monsters and battles with hostile islanders, pushes them to devise a bold plan that could mean a second chance at the riches they'd almost lost.

The story follows their scramble to convince the seasoned Captain Broadbeam to give them a chance, and the narrow, peril‑filled route they must take across uncharted waters to recover what is rightfully theirs.
