Das Buch vom Brüderchen
A contented writer lives with his wife and three children, blissfully convinced that his happiness rests in the simple certainty that nothing can truly threaten his world. He channels this feeling into a light‑hearted manuscript about his two older boys—Olof, practical and reluctant to read, and Svante, an eager storyteller who devours the pages in one sitting. When the freshly bound book reaches home, the brothers each receive a copy, sparking a small celebration as Svante reads aloud and Olof finally sits down to turn the pages.
Meanwhile, the youngest child, a two‑year‑old with bright blue eyes and a curl of blond hair, watches the scene with growing curiosity. Though still unable to speak clearly, he invents his own name, “Nenne,” and insists on having a book of his own, prompting gentle teasing and tender moments from his parents. The opening paints a vivid picture of familial love, the wonder of early reading, and the subtle tensions that arise when imagination meets everyday life.
