Description

In the bustling heart of 1838 Venice, the Bollati palace thrums with feverish activity as servants polish marble, drapes are fluffed, and a splendid “Uscocca” is erected for a royal regatta honoring Ferdinand I. Among the moving crowd, fifteen‑year‑old Count Leonardo watches from the waterfront, while Tita, a seasoned gondolier, debates the merits of the newcomer Nane Sandretti, a mysterious Murano youth whispered to possess extraordinary talent. Meanwhile, Count Zaccaria strides confidently through the hall, vowing to showcase the family's historic prestige, even as his wife Chiaretta frets over the endless invitations and the looming spectacle’s toll on her patience.

Beneath the glittering façade, a web of social expectations tightens: aristocrats, merchants, and even a banker’s wife mingle, each hopeful for favor in the upcoming ball. Tensions rise as rumors of scandal and rivalry surface, hinting at alliances that could shift loyalties. As the day of the regatta approaches, the household braces for a cascade of emotions, ambition, and unforeseen twists that promise to test both pride and love.
