A salty breeze rolls over a bustling harbor as Captain Boyd Mayo takes command of his employer’s sleek yacht, the Olenia. The ship’s decks echo with shanties and violin strains, framing a budding romance between the disciplined captain and the headstrong Alma Marston, daughter of the yacht’s owner. Their first night together on the moon‑lit water is a mixture of duty and yearning, each glance hinting at deeper currents beneath the surface.
When a sudden impulse drives Mayo to seize Alma in a reckless embrace, panic overtakes his practiced composure. He retreats, tormented by shame and fearing the loss of honor that his rank demands, while Alma’s poised voice cuts through the night’s music, demanding an answer. The opening act leaves listeners drifting between the promise of a daring love and the storm of emotions that threatens to capsize both hearts.
