Description

In a quiet Swedish village the story opens with a humble Sunday‑school lesson that likens God's kingdom to a farmer sowing seed. Against this gentle backdrop lives Johannes, a shy boy who spends his afternoons watching the adult world while waiting for his mother’s return. When a local woman arrives to arrange linen work, Johannes is left alone in a lush garden where curiosity soon stirs.

He discovers a hedge heavy with ruby‑red apples and, unable to resist, plucks one, only to hear a faint, admonishing voice whisper that the act is a sin. Drawn toward a glass veranda, he meets a pale, wheelchair‑bound girl whose steady gaze seems to see straight through him, asking simple questions that unsettles his defiant spirit. The encounter hints at a deeper moral journey, inviting listeners to reflect on conscience, kindness, and the quiet power of faith in everyday choices.
