On a windswept island where ancient ruins loom over a fishing village, a widower’s new wife strives to erase the memory of the woman who first held his heart. She rearranges rooms, disposes of heirloom garments, and even tries to win over a loyal terrier that still mourns its lost mistress. Yet the island itself seems to remember, its crumbling abbey and twisted yew tree whispering of a lingering presence that refuses to be silenced.
Villagers speak of a specter gliding along the quay at night, a phantom cradling a child in shadowed arms, while the widower, now engrossed in his new life, avoids the haunted shore. The tension between fresh prosperity and the lingering grief creates an uneasy stillness, hinting that some bonds—whether to people or place—may persist beyond death. Listeners will be drawn into a world where love, loss, and lingering echoes intertwine beneath the ever‑watchful eye of the sea.
