Description

In the shadow of a modest mountain, Lost Hollow clings to the past like ivy on weather‑worn stone. Its few cabins and scattered farms whisper of a time when the hill folk fought bravely in the Revolution, only to be forgotten as the new nation surged ahead. The community lives on a narrow road called the Way, a lifeline that threads through mist‑shrouded peaks and the lingering echo of old loyalties. Life here is simple, but the weight of history and the sting of poverty shape every step the residents take.

Against this backdrop, young Sandy Morley spends his days at an easel, his brush capturing the bleak beauty of the hills while Cynthia watches with cautious curiosity. Their quiet moments are punctuated by the town’s uneasy relationship with whiskey, which can turn gentle folk into rough‑tempered shadows. As the post‑war world reshapes the valley, the Morleys, like their neighbors, must decide whether to cling to the fading legacy of their forebears or forge a new path amid the lingering mist.
