Description

A daring expedition sets off for Jupiter, propelled by the newly‑tamed force called apergy. The crew of the sleek vessel Callisto—Dr. Cortlandt, President Bearwarden and the inventive Ayrault—glide through swirling clouds and watch the giant planet’s moons glitter like silver shields. Their mission blends scientific curiosity with a romantic yearning to reshape humanity’s future, leaving behind the old rivalry between the classics and modern discovery.

When the ship breaches Jupiter’s atmosphere, an alien continent unfolds below, dotted with glittering lakes, towering mountains and steaming volcanoes. The explorers marvel at the planet’s gentle climate, made possible by its almost vertical axial tilt, and begin to imagine how its resources might be harnessed. Their awe‑filled observations set the stage for a journey that could rewrite what is known about both the cosmos and the human spirit.
