Description

In the quiet town of Cacouna, Mrs. Costello clings to the hope of a postponed departure, seeking a brief respite from the turmoil that has shadowed her life. Her daughter Lucia, still nursing the ache of a recent heartbreak, finds herself balancing daily duties with a tender vigilance over her mother’s frail spirits. As the community’s ordinary rhythms continue, subtle tensions surface—whispers of a long, uncertain journey that few are prepared to discuss openly.

Amidst the hushed preparations, Lucia’s resolve is tested by lingering memories of a lost love and the looming weight of leaving the familiar. Yet the prospect of travel also offers a chance for renewal, prompting both women to marshal their courage and practical skills. Their story unfolds against the backdrop of Canada’s rugged beauty, promising a tale of perseverance, quiet bravery, and the delicate art of moving forward while honoring the past.
