A prolific American pulp writer, T. T. Flynn built a wide-ranging career in detective, aviation, adventure, and Western fiction. He is best remembered for The Man from Laramie, the novel that became a 1955 James Stewart film.

About the author
Theodore Thomas Flynn (1902–1979) was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. At fourteen, he joined the merchant navy, working a variety of jobs before returning to the United States and becoming a railroad brakeman. After losing that job in 1925, he turned to writing full-time.
Flynn wrote across many popular-fiction genres, publishing in magazines such as Adventure, Clues, Short Stories, Dime Detective, and several Western pulp magazines. He became one of the most frequent contributors to Dime Detective, while also writing aviation stories and taking flight lessons during the 1920s aviation boom.
After World War II, Flynn focused increasingly on Western novels. His 1954 Saturday Evening Post serial The Man from Laramie was adapted into a 1955 film starring James Stewart. Flynn died in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1979.
