Born in Barsszentkereszt on September 11, 1865, he was originally named nagyabonyi Csiba Árpád. He studied law in Kolozsvár and earned a doctoral degree, but journalism and literature soon became his main path.
From 1896 onward, he worked for newspapers in Kolozsvár and later in Budapest, writing for publications including Ország-Világ, Fővárosi Lapok, Magyar Hírlap, and Magyarország, where he also served in an editorial role. Alongside his journalism, he published novels, books for younger readers, and historical works.
He died in Budapest on July 25, 1918. Remembered as a productive writer with a strong presence in the Hungarian press, he left behind fiction that reflects the tastes and reading culture of his time.
