Born Eero Armas Turunen in Kuopio on April 8, 1886, he became known as a Finnish playwright and translator. Finnish reference sources identify him as the son of Eero Juho Turunen and Anna Elisabet Ruotsalainen, and note that he studied at the classical lyceum in Viipuri from 1897 to 1903.
Though he died young in Viipuri on April 23, 1909, he left behind several plays, including Rakkautta ja politiikkaa, Hakalan rahat, and Patruunan palveluksessa. Some bibliographic records also note that he wrote under the pen names A.T. and Suru.
Today, his work remains accessible through library and public-domain catalogues, which helps keep this early 20th-century Finnish dramatic voice in circulation for new readers and listeners.
