About the author

Antoine Duval is a Senior Researcher at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut in the Netherlands, where he heads the Asser International Sports Law Centre. He previously earned a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence in 2015.

His writing centers on international law, European law, and sports law. Across books and academic work, he has explored subjects such as the regulation of sport, transnational governance, and the legal questions that emerge when sporting bodies, states, and courts collide.

He works in several languages, including French, English, and German, and is also described by his institute as an avid football and badminton player, a fond reader, an amateur photographer, and a tireless traveller.
