Born in Viseu, Portugal, on April 8, 1847, Alfredo de Araújo de Almeida Campos was a Portuguese writer active in the late 19th century. Available sources describe him as a contributor to several magazines and newspapers, and as an author whose work ranged from poetry and theater to fiction.
He was also linked to the literary magazine República das Letras in 1875, where he collaborated and served in an administrative role. Among the works that remain accessible today are A Filha do Cabinda, O Infante Navegador: Poemeto, and Historia Pitoresca: Palavras e Frases Celebres.
Campos died in October 1906. Although he is not widely known today, the record of his journalism and varied published writing suggests a versatile literary career.
