Description

A weary traveler finally reaches the secluded Duchy of Montvilliers, his long‑awaited journey ending at the foot of a mist‑cloaked valley. From the rattling carriage he watches the road give way to a stone bridge spanning a river dotted with emerald islands, while distant bell chimes echo from an unseen belfry. The town of Vayenne spreads before him—its narrow streets, weather‑worn towers, and a looming castle that hints at a stern, perhaps oppressive rule.

As twilight settles, the newcomer feels an uncanny familiarity with this dreamlike place, as if an old promise made in childhood is about to be fulfilled. The atmosphere is a mix of awe and unease: a towering church spire reaches toward hope, while the castle’s battlements suggest hidden dangers. The traveler’s curiosity is sparked, and listeners are invited to follow his first steps into a world where mystery and history intertwine.
