A young, impeccably dressed forest ranger from the affluent south boards a night train bound for the far north, chasing a coveted post that will take him deep into Lapland’s wilderness. The journey is a solitary one, the carriage slowly emptying as the landscape outside turns into endless snow‑drifted plains and icy wind. He watches the darkness swallow the sun, feeling both a restless excitement and a lingering unease about the unknown world awaiting him.
Arriving at the remote stations, he meets a handful of seasoned locals who speak of reindeer‑driven life, aurora‑lit skies and the harsh yet beautiful climate of the far north. Their stories stir his imagination, offering a glimpse of a culture so different from the comforts of his southern home. As the train rattles onward through the desolate, moon‑lit forests, the young ranger’s curiosity deepens, and he begins to wonder how he will adapt to the stark, unforgiving terrain that lies ahead.
