Tri Noveloj
A curious chronicler named Ripo Van‑Vinklo spends his days wandering between dusty archives and the people of a quiet riverside village. Fiercely interested in the faded Dutch‑settler era, he treats every conversation as a living field note, recording customs and tales that have slipped past the pages of formal history. His modest home, tucked beneath a spreading plane tree, becomes his informal laboratory for piecing together the province’s forgotten narratives.
Beyond his little cottage rise the Katskilaj Mountains, a rugged chain that changes hue with each season. When the sky is clear the peaks glow in soft blues and purples, while misty mornings cloak them in a ghostly gray. The surrounding settlement, built from yellow bricks brought over from the Netherlands, still bears the orderly windows and wind‑flags of its founders, offering a vivid backdrop to Ripo’s explorations.
The villagers, especially the sturdy wives who tend the bakery and gardens, regard him with a mix of amusement and respect. Though his humor can be blunt, his genuine affection for the community shines through, making his quest for authentic folklore feel less like an academic pursuit and more like a shared adventure among friends.
