Description

In a near‑future lab, a meticulous biologist named Henderson wrestles with a massive computer that seems to answer every query in a bewildering mix of astrology and gibberish. When he feeds it statistical data about a mouse cancer experiment, the machine spits out cryptic horoscopes instead of the expected calculations. Frustrated yet fascinated, Henderson begins to treat the device as both a tool and a bewildering oracle, testing its limits with everyday questions about finances, friendships, and the meaning of data.

The story unfolds as the computer’s erratic behavior spreads through the research facility, drawing the curiosity of a military colonel, a skeptical doctor, and even the night janitor. Their attempts to diagnose the machine’s ‘hiccups’ reveal a subtle satire of how we trust technology to replace human judgment. As the device continues to spew mysterious symbols and celestial references, Henderson must decide whether to silence it, harness its odd predictions, or simply live alongside its mischievous chatter.
