Description

Tom Fairfield returns to Elmwood Hall after a summer of camping adventures, eager to settle into dorm life and catch up with old friends. He quickly reconnects with Morse Denton, the football captain, and the two plot their place in the upcoming season, while Tom hopes his old buddies Bert and Jack will join him soon. The campus buzzes with renovations, fresh paint, and a newly leveled gridiron, promising a lively fall of games and camaraderie.

Yet the excitement is shadowed by a sudden accusation that threatens Tom’s reputation, and a mysterious incident involving the college’s mill and a hermit draws him into a risky investigation. With his friends offering advice and a determined spirit, Tom decides to clear his name, setting off on a cross‑country run, a hazardous woods trek, and a series of daring escapades. Listeners will follow his pluck and luck as he balances school life, football, and the quest for truth.
