Description

At Fort Enterprise, a remote trading post a thousand miles from the nearest city, life turns on the slow freeze of the rivers and the promise of mail. The hardy crew—trader John Gaviller, gruff Doc Giddings, and the jovial Captain Stinson—spend long evenings arguing over when the ice will finally carry letters north. When the courier Ben Causton finally bursts through the door with his heavy bags, the post erupts with plans for the treacherous journey to Caribou Lake.

Amid the planning, rumors circulate about a woman arriving from beyond the river—an outsider whose presence promises to upset the settled routine of the outpost. Her mysterious background and the timing of her arrival hint at hidden motives that could draw the community into unfamiliar alliances and dangers. Listeners are invited to follow the early days of this northern saga, where harsh weather, cultural crossings, and a looming secret shape the fate of everyone at Fort Enterprise.
