Description

In the heart of a frozen Canadian wilderness, the moon hangs like a red lantern over a silent, snow‑covered lake. A lone bull moose, gravely wounded, staggers toward the dark spruce forest as the mournful howl of a wolf pack echoes through the night. The air is so cold that even a motionless man would freeze in an hour, and every crack of a rifle reverberates like a warning across the barren expanse.

The story follows a seasoned hunter and his steadfast guide, Mukoki, as they navigate this unforgiving landscape. Bound by loyalty and the shared hardships of the “long silent trail,” they must decide whether to pursue the fleeing beast or retreat from the looming danger. Their struggle against nature’s raw power and the ever‑present threat of the wolves creates a tense, vivid portrait of survival on the edge of wilderness.
