Description

Nicholas Kane is a brilliant chemical engineer with an ordinary life, a demanding job, and a collection of metal objects embedded in and attached to his body. Then, while tapping his wedding ring against his teeth, he hears a woman’s terrified plea, a brutal impact, and a man’s horrified confession. The voices vanish almost immediately, leaving Kane to wonder whether he has suffered a breakdown—or accidentally received a transmission no one else can hear.

Troubled by the experience, Kane returns home early, hoping to turn an unsettling day into a pleasant surprise for his wife. But the strange incident refuses to stay neatly in the realm of imagination. As his scientific instincts compete with growing dread, he must determine what caused the voices and whether they carry a warning meant for him. This tense science-fiction mystery turns everyday technology, bodily accidents, and an analytical mind into the instruments of a disturbing discovery.
