Description

A seasoned but restless Lincoln businessman receives a startling letter from a distant gold mine, detailing a daring theft of more than a million dollars’ worth of bullion. The news awakens his old habit of weighing risk against principle, forcing him to confront the thin line between ambition and honesty. As the allure of the hidden fortune looms, he finds himself at a crossroads, unsure whether to chase the promise or remain true to his hard‑won reputation.

Enter Margaret Laurie, a spirited piano teacher with a sharp eye for adventure and a penchant for pistol practice. Together they mount a restless pinto and ride the rolling Nebraska prairie, the wind whipping across open fields as they head toward an uncertain horizon. Their partnership promises a blend of daring escapades, rugged landscapes, and the tantalizing pull of a treasure that could change their lives—if they can stay one step ahead of danger and their own doubts.
