The Travels of Fuzz and Buzz
BY - GERALDINE MOCKLER
THE TRAVELS OF - FUZZ AND BUZZ
In a quiet wood, the Brownie family of field‑mice faces a harsh winter after the father’s paw is broken in an accident. With their stores of nuts and acorns dwindling, mother and children scramble to make do, relying on the kindness of neighboring creatures who share what little they have. The youngest siblings, Fuzz and Buzz, watch their parents’ worries deepen as frost covers the forest floor.
Against the backdrop of biting cold, the young mice grow restless, dreaming of a safer place where food is plentiful. Their aunt’s barn, brimming with oats and corn, seems like a tempting refuge, yet the shadows of cats and dogs loom large in their minds. Fuzz’s eager voice sparks a plan that could change their fate, urging the family to consider a daring journey beyond their familiar burrow.
As the snowfall thickens, the Brownies must decide whether to brave unknown dangers for the promise of sustenance, or cling to the familiar safety of their home despite the growing emptiness of their larder.
