Description

On a scorching summer day Yan, a restless youth living near the wild Sandhill region, follows a single, elegant hoof‑print through a marshy spring. Though the settlers swear there are no deer left in those hills, the fresh track sparks a fierce determination that drives him into the untamed woods day after day. His solitary quest becomes a test of endurance, as he learns to read the subtle clues left in mud, snow, and sand.

When the trail finally leads him to a hidden glade, Yan encounters two towering, gray‑furred creatures with massive ears that move with a graceful, almost otherworldly lightness. Their silent, leaping play—like “wingless birds” soaring over the ravine—leaves him breathless, and he watches, rifle lowered, as they vanish into the twilight. The encounter promises a deeper mystery about the hidden life of the Sandhill wilderness, inviting listeners to follow Yan’s early steps toward discovery.
