The Three Bears
THE STORY OF
Deep in Hazel-nut Wood live three bears: stern Bruin, his strong-minded wife Mammy Muff, and their young son, Tiny-cub. Each has a bowl, chair, and bed suited to his or her size, but Tiny-cub’s belongings are the finest of all. When the family leaves home for a walk, they expect their house to remain undisturbed.
Nearby, Goldenhair—a daring, curious girl with bright curls—spots the bears and decides that an empty house is an invitation. She samples each bowl of porridge, settles into the chairs, and discovers that Tiny-cub’s is not built to withstand her enthusiasm. Upstairs, she tries the three beds and soon falls asleep in the smallest one.
When the bears return, their questions echo through the house as they investigate the missing porridge and broken chair. Their search leads them to Goldenhair, and she must rely on her quick thinking to escape the angry family. Told in playful rhyme with vivid, comic comparisons, this lively tale is well suited to listeners who enjoy mischievous adventures and classic storybook humor.
