THE TALE OF THE FLOPSY BUNNIES
Benjamin Bunny and his cousin Flopsy have grown up, married, and started a large, cheerful family of little rabbits. When food is scarce, the Flopsy Bunnies venture to a rubbish heap near Mr. McGregor’s garden, where they discover a tempting supply of overgrown lettuces. Unfortunately, the lettuces leave them so sleepy that the entire family soon dozes off in the warm sunshine.
While the bunnies dream peacefully, danger arrives in the form of Mr. McGregor and a sackful of lawn mowings. Their parents must think quickly, aided by the resourceful woodmouse Thomasina Tittlemouse, as a seemingly harmless afternoon turns into a delicate rescue mission. With gentle humor, vivid countryside details, and plenty of rabbit-sized suspense, this charming story follows one family’s attempt to outwit a determined gardener and return safely home.
