The Story of the Teasing Monkey
The Story of
Jacko is a mischievous little monkey who lives high in a banyan tree and delights in teasing the jungle creatures below. Even a fierce lion and lioness are not safe from his tail-pulling tricks, but when they devise a clever trap, Jacko finds himself captured and locked away in their cave.
The lions plan to fatten him up for a special dinner, feeding him endless bananas while they wait. Jacko, however, is far too clever to cooperate. With the help—or occasional hindrance—of some frightened rats, a few tempting cocoa-nuts, and his own quick thinking, he begins searching for a way out.
Full of lively jungle characters, playful danger, and comic surprises, this story follows one small monkey as he tries to outwit several hungry animals much bigger than himself. Young listeners will enjoy Jacko’s cheeky schemes, the expressive animal conversations, and the suspense of discovering whether his cleverness can save him.
